Red Cross holds annual lucky bag draw in Srinagar | KNO

The annual lucky bag draw 2017 of Indian Red Cross Society, J&K chapter was today held at Government Girls Higher Secondary School Kothibagh (GGHSS) Srinagar. Deputy Chief Education Officer Srinagar, Mudasir Kaleem Fazili was the Chief Guest on the occasion, while as Principal GGHSS Kothibagh Romana Qazi was Guest of Honour. On the occasion ticket number 053504 got the first prize as Rs 25,000, ticket number 0176136 won the second prize as Rs. 15000, and ticket number 053020 got third prize amounting to Rs 10,000. Besides, four other prizes amounting to Rs. 5000 went to ticket numbers 0311753, 0271618, 031789 and 072667. As many as 24 consolation prizes of Rs. 2000 each were also given to lucky ticket holders. Speaking on the occasion, Deputy CEO said that more and more people particularly youth should be motivated towards Red Cross and every step should be taken to make it more viable and effective. General Secretary Indian Red Cross Society J&K Branch, M.S. Rather while highlighting the importance of Red Cross said that Department of Education sold 20,000 tickets in different schools which had generated Rs 10 lakh profit to the organization. This amount will be distributed among the fire victims, poor, disabled persons, needy patients, flood sufferers and other needy people. On the occasion Students, GGHSS Kothibagh presented cultural programme as well. Treasurer Indian Red Cross Society J&K Branch, G.A. Qureshi, Teachers and Students of GGHSS Kothibagh, besides volunteers in large numbers were also present in the function.
